She currently serves as Government Caucus Chair, and Chair of the Special Committee on Local Elections Expense Limits. She is also a member of the Cabinet Committee on Secure Tomorrow, the Environment and Land Use Committee, the Select Standing Committee on Education, the Special Committee of Selection, the Special Committee to Review the Independent Investigations Office, the Select Standing Committee on Parliamentary Reform, Ethical Conduct, Standing Orders and Private Bills, and the Cabinet Working Group on Labour.
Prior to being elected as MLA, Jackie served three terms on Ashcroft council. She was a school board member for 17 years, serving as chair for 15 of those years. She is also a former President of the BC School Trustees Association.
Jackie was the facilitator for BC Healthy Communities’ Interior Region, the coordinator for Community Futures (which plays a significant role in entrepreneurial and community development), and was a partner in Painted Ladies Gallery and Gifts.
Jackie was born in Princeton and has lived in Ashcroft for 50 years. She has four children and nine grandchildren with her late husband.
